Transforming Practices, Expanding Mindsets 2016
Please join the Teachers College Inclusive Classrooms Project and the New York City Department of Education for Transforming Practices, Expanding Mindsets 2016 on Thursday, June 9th at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Building on the success of previous years’ Chancellor’s Days, this will once again be a day presented by NYC DOE teachers for NYC DOE teachers. We welcome individuals, teaching teams, and whole-school groups. This year’s opening keynote speaker, Teachers College professor Chris Emdin, promises to be intriguing and inspiring. He is the author of a the new book, For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood… and the Rest of Y’all Too: Reality Pedagogy and Urban Education.
Our closing keynote speaker is Professor Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz, Teachers College professor of English Education and former inquiry team leader, addressing, “What Our Students Can Tell Us About Moving Toward Inclusivity—If We Listen.”
The day begins at 9AM sharp (doors open at 8AM) and concludes at 2:30PM. Please click here for info on breakout sessions and to register.
